Power Options allows an user to configure Windows XP to turn off the power
to monitor and hard disk, or put the computer in hibernate mode.

monitor is turned off; after 30 minutes of inactivity, the hard disks
are turned off.

the computer display is always to remain on. The monitor and the
hard disks are never turned off.
* Always On - This power scheme is designed for use with personal servers. After
20 minutes of inactivity, the monitor is turned off, but the hard disks

Steps how to select a power scheme:
1. Ensure that the PC is logged on with user account that is member of the Administrators
local group.
2. Click Start and Control Panel

5. Click the arrow at the end of the Power Schemes box to display the pull-down menu listing

Steps to make Own Power Scheme:

7. For this do any one of this a) Click OK to modify the existing power scheme and close theinactive time before the monitor or hard drives are turned off.
