How to Disable and Re-enable Hardware Device

 (Example on a Printer and can be done with other devise in the same procedure)

1. From the Start menu, open Control Panel.

2. In Control Panel click Performance And Maintenance.

3. In Performance And Maintenance window, click System.

4. Click the Device Manager button.

5. Expand the Ports (COM & LPT) category, right click the parallel port then Properties.

6. In the dialog box on the General tab, select Do Not Use This Device (Disable) and click OK.
                        OR

7. In the dialog box on the General tab, select Use This Device (Enable) and click OK.

8. Close all open windows.
