Each disk in the group contains dynamic disk database for the entire group stored in the 1 MB reserved disk area at the end of the disk. When a dynamic disk is move from one computer to another, Windows displays it as a foreign disk because it does not belong to the local disk group. Doing this it merge the disk’s information into the dynamic disk database on the new computer and place a copy of the database on the newly installed disk.
