COMMON VIRUSES CAUSING PROBLEMS TO THE PC.

* Malware - Malware is programming or files that are developed for the purpose of doing harm to the system. They can be name as computer viruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware, hijackers, and certain type of adware which are commonly found to disturb/destroy files and make the computer unstable.
Generally these viruses cause infections by creating a configuration entry in windows registry in ordet that the program starts as soon as the computer starts.

Adware – This virus is a program that generates pop-ups on computer or displays
advertisements.

Backdoor – This virus is a program that allows a remote user to execute commands and tasks on
the end users/client computer without permission.


Dialler – This virus is a program that typically dials a premium rate number that has per minute
charges over and above the typical call charge.
Hijackers – This virus is a program that attempts to hijack certain Internet functions like
redirecting the start page to the hijacker's start page, redirecting search queries to
undesired search engine or replace search results from popular search engines with their
own information.
Spyware – This virus is a program that monitors the activity or information on the computer and
sends that information to a remote computer without the users knowledge.
Trojan- This virus is a program that has been designed to appear innocent but intentionally
designed to cause malicious activity or provide a backdoor to the system.


Virus – This virus is a program when it is run, has the ability to self-replicate by infecting other
programs and files on the computer.
Worm – This virus is a program when it is run, it has the ability to spread to other computers on
its own using either mass-mailing techniques to email addresses found on the computer
or by using the Internet to infect a remote computer using known security holes.

Spam - This virus is the term commonly used to describe the abundance of unsolicited bulk
email which plagues the mailboxes of Internet users worldwide.

Bugs – This virus is a software errors which, when they crop up, can kill off the software
immediately. They can also result in data corruption, security weaknesses, and spurious,
hard-to-find problems.
